The project involves gauge conversion from narrow gauge to broad gauge, construction of major bridges and road under bridges, and regrading of approach roads along the Kolar–Chintamani section, including bridges numbered 56, 57, 65, 71, 82, and 88 with PSC I-girders and RCC deck slabs.
